Frequently Asked Questions

What time should I arrive?

The race will start at 6am, there will be hot drinks / coffee served starting at 5am, followed by a pre-race announcement at 5:45.

Registration / packet pick up will open at 5am. There will also be a packet/bib pickup on Oct 28 in downtown Idyllwild in town center from 4p-6p.

Where do I park?

There should be ample parking at the start, friends and family may need to be directed to overflow parking depending on turn out. Please arrive no later than 5:30 at 26995 Cowbell Alley, Idyllwild.

GPS coordinates: 33.730013, -116.710371

What should I bring?

A race vest is highly recommended as the weather in late October is highly variable. Historically it should be a relatively temperate day, but the course tops out on San Jacinto peak at 10,833’. Bring a windbreaker, possibly a rain jacket, micro spikes likely not needed (I will be scouting the course prior to the race to assess for any ice/snow). Although there are aid stations, there will be an 8 mile stretch of the course that I am requiring all runners to carry a minimum of 1 liter of water.

Can my Grandma come?

As long as there is room for people to be hanging out comfortably, friends/family can attend the start & finish.

Why do I need a qualifier?

This race is HARD. Harder than you think. We need to respect the safety and sanity of our volunteers and course sweepers to make for a smooth day.
